Book Review: The Coming King and The Rejected Shepherd

The Coming King and The Rejected Shepherd: Matthew’s Reading of Zechariah’s Messianic Hope by Clay Alan Ham
Another short book (1256pgs) but full of nuggets and good work. The first two chapters of the book are highly technical. The author is proficient in both Hebrew and Greek and uses the first two chapters to [...]

Can you believe this???

Robert Schuller, said the following:
“I don’t think anything has been done in the name of Christ and under the banner of Christianity that has proven more destructive to human personality and, hence, counterproductive to the evangelism enterprise than the often crude, uncouth, and unchristian strategy of attempting to make people aware of their lost and sinful [...]

Book Review: Jesus & Utopia

Jesus & Utopia: Looking for the Kingdom of the God in the Roman World by Mary Ann Beavis

For starters, let me say that this book is very liberal, and takes what could be considered a very alternative starting point of view. (Yes, I read this in a day, it was short, only 108 pages). [...]

Book Review: Believer’s Baptism

Believer’s Baptism: Sign of the New Covenant of Christ, edited by Thomas R. Schreiner and Shawn D. Wright

I was looking forward to getting my hands on this book and reading it. Some of it I didn’t find too interesting, specifically sections of paedobaptism (infant baptism) – because the ineffectiveness of such a practice is [...]

Bullhorn Guy – Rob Bell

What do you [...]

Tomb Found Follow Up

I watched the “Jesus Family Tomb” on the Discovery Channel last night as well as the roundtable discussion with Ted Koppel afterwards.  Personally, I’m still a Christian .
The movie was interesting although made a lot “maybes” “what if” “perhaps” into seemingly definates.
I really enjoyed the discussion afterwards – the best part of that hour [...]

Homosexuality

In light of news like this (Lesbian converts to convert others), I think it is important for us to think about the debate around homosexuality and moral implications. Good thing others are thinking too. And it seems they are right on.

Animal Sacrifices To Resume?

CNN Article
YNET News Article
There are a few interesting things about these articles.
First off, that there is even discussion about this topic is rather amazing knowing the Bible speaks about the Temple needing to be rebuilt.  There are people discussing these issues who are serious and are campaigning for it to be a reality.
Secondly, it also [...]
