“One Thing You Lack”

Audio Clip: One Thing You Lack

This is a great 6min clip from Fire On The Altar. Very convicting and confronting.

Art Katz says the following around 4:35 –

“Houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms an hundredfold along with persecutions, not so much from the world, but from other Christians who think you have gone too far.  Why do they persecute you?  Why do you make them boil?  Why do they find someting growing in them that is an irritation and vexation with you who are a Kingdom person?  Because it shames them.  Because it scandalizes their present Christianity.  Because it reveals to them what the true comittment to the king is.  It shows that they are yet outside the Kingdom.  If only you were not there to confront them.  If only they could persuade themselves that their holy gift to God and look what they’re tithing and look what they’re donating and look how they open their homes to meetings and look how often they attend the youth thing, or this that and the other, when your total Kingdom consecration, the all, the totality, the finality of it, angers and irritates them.

If you have not experienced persecution, it is ipso facto evidence already that you are living beneath the Kingdom level.”

Wow.  Take the time to listen to this clip.

That part of the clip rings very true. It seems that many are scared to be sold out to God, Jesus and the coming Kingdom for fear of being called ” a Jesus freak, bible thumper, extremist,etc.”. It is a sad thing to hear people within the body of Christ say that they are just an ” average christian”. On the contrary I have never heard Jesus say anything about different levels of christianity. I have seen from the scriptures that he was the most radical of all and requires nothing less of us ‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth’ Revelations 3:16. Let us pray that we may all be as radical as Jesus was, love GOD and serve him with ALL of our heart, ALL of our soul, and ALL of our strength, and rejoice when we are persecuted for righteousness sake!
