No kiss, no sex till marriage – Good for you!

Saw this article on the news page of after reading it, I was proud of this guys commitment to purity and holiness. It is sad that he was mocked on national television and will probably not get anywhere near the exposure for his reasoning and response than the other side will get for mocking him….but, nevertheless, Bruce Dickson, good for you, may the LORD honor your sacrifice for Him.

Here’s the clip:

Here’s the article: ‘American Idol’ Virgin Fires Back At Seacrest Comments

I Thessalonians 4:3 – For this is the will of God, your sanctification; that is, that you abstain from sexual immorality

I Thessalonians 4:7 – For God has not called us for the purpose of impurity, but in sanctification.

Hebrews 12:14 – Pursue peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no one will see the Lord.

hey… you “stupid” religious uncultivated Americans (just as bad as the extreem Muslims you hate so much). here is one for you: No marriage before sex!!
or better: make love not war! There is a BIG difference between being spiritual and being religious! most religious people learn hate and are not very intelligent and not well travelled! Learn to propagate love with religion… and only that! sex is fun and good. Religion is for the weak at soul and low IQed when used to propagate dumb messages like: no sex till marriage. From what small village in the middle of nowhere do you come from??? it is sooo sad it is even funny!

  2. Hello Loic,
This “love” that you speak of, do you propagate it by insulting peoples intelligence, calling them weak minded and stupid or saying that their message is dumb?

Where did you get the idea that this promotes hatred towards muslims, or that people on this site hate muslims? There are many many people who contribute to and read this site who take the command to “love you enemies” very seriously.

This is a christian blog, and while it might not be fair to ask you to try and attain a standard that you do not embrace… we ask you to people be a little more polite. Even secular intellectuals would agree.

Your comments about most religious people learning to hate and are not well travelled (unlike you) and are week at soul and low IQ’d is not coming from someone who has been exposed to a lot of theological history.

I hope you can keep a more open mind and find some peace through God and Jesus Christ.

    God bless

  3. JP, excellent points.

Loic, (if you are still around), the point of the post was that this kid was making a choice – one that he is freely entitled to as you are to make the opposite choice – but he was also being ridiculed by the program and other outlets since then.

As JP mentions above, your comments about “religious people” seem to be coming from a situation you must have experienced at some point in your life – have people calling themselves Christians somewhere or at some point done you wrong?

  4. Calm down Loic Rathscheck (who has travelled quite a lot!)
You say:Religion is for the weak at soul and low IQed when used to propagate dumb messages like: no sex till marriage.
Well no! Religion is a great thing! I’m not a believer myself, but religion has boosted people out of the pits of lowness with just belief. Ok, there was some rubbish stuff-crusades, wars etc, but the pros, like beautiful churches and codes of morality can only be good!
I respect that guy on the video! And sort of agree with the lovely John Paul who replied to you. Don’t offend people who don’t agree with your way of life 🙂

I am one all for waiting till marriage! So what I am a 24year old male virgin, and proud of it!!!

  6. parentheicalramblings,
thanks for your comment. It’s funny because as I was thinking about your statement “so what I am a 24year old male virgin, and proud of it!!!” I was thinking that is how it is supposed to be. For it to be as rare as it is, is sad. I will ask you one question, what is your motivation for waiting till marriage?

    Hey Victor!
My motivation is simple (and not religious) I am keeping the one thing I think is the most important gift I can give… for my future wife.
In respect, I also hope that she has done the same for me, coz I could not imagine / comprehend a life where my wife was not a virgin before our marriage!

If you decide not to have sex before marriage, you are a sad, sad fool.
